 Welcome to PRO K-9 In-Home Dog Training and Behavior Modification. We are a group of behaviorists who specialize
in in-home training programs for you and your dog. Our staff has over 17 years of combined experience.
During that time we have worked with hundreds of dogs and dog owners in the Washtenaw, Wayne and Oakland County areas.
We take pride in our ability to solve any behavioral problem. We also take pride in our ability to teach effective obedience
through the use of positive reinforcement training methods, without the use of shock collars, clickers or treats. Our
philosophy regarding training demands that owners be given the knowledge to build and maintain leadership as well as the understanding
to correct specific problems they are currently facing including the theories and methods to prevent any future problems.
We show families how to utilize their dogs' natural instincts toward redirecting unwanted behaviors.
Our program
begins with a free in-home evaluation. We assess your dog in their natural environment, which allows us to pinpoint
the source of any behavioral problems. Since most behavioral problems dog owners face occur in the home and obedience
needs to be effective in the home and everyday life, training the dog and owner in their own environment is essential for
success. Our program is designed such that a behavior consultant will come out to the home on a weekly basis until you
and your dog have overcome behavioral problems and mastered basic obedience commands. Once we have success in the home,
the next step is to teach the dog how to act in public and around other dogs. PRO K-9 runs weekly socializing groups
designed to allow you and your dog to practice obedience in public settings and to work on any behavioral problems that are
specific to public settings. These groups are part of our Dog Training for Life program and we encourage you to attend as much and as often as you like.
Since you and your dog are unique, we tailor
a specific and thorough training program to meet your needs. With our Dog Training for Life program, our services are not limited to a set period of time. If at any time during the life of your dog should any training
regress, we will return to the home and provide refresher lessons at no additional charge.
